I'm so happy with this serger. I own a much-loved Husqvarna Viking S25 serger/cover stitch combination machine but it has gotten to the point where I have difficulty threading it due to my shaky hands. I love how easy the Triumph is to thread and switch from overlock to cover stitch mode (I no longer have to scroll through many screens to choose the mode I want). I chose Baby Lock because I really, really wanted the curving foot which has absolutely been a game changer in navigating curves.

When I bought my machine pre-loved it did not come with the smaller screw, I did not even know about the smaller screw until about a year after buying my machine. It is for the second hole from the left of the embroidery arm and keeps from hitting the back of my machine when using larger hoops.

I love the print. It’s a great design and the really light grey will looks awesome on this cool anchor quilt block I am working on. I wish I bought another yard of the print. It is very high quality. Feels nice to touch. I pre washed the yardage and used spray starch for cutting. This pattern I am using has a ton of seams. Fingers crossed!

I found an old Brother Quilt Club 1300 at a quilt show, for a steal of a price. It only came with a rolled hem foot. I was able to download the manual for the machine, and find the part number for the multi purpose foot. Then, I found Sewing Parts Online, and was able to order the exact presser foot that I needed. One of three items I purchased to support the Amani Ya Juu organization in Nairobi, Kenya. The needle plate had been used on this overlock extensively (note the bent pins). The knives were also replaced and the machine had years of lint and oil buildup. I was reluctant to buy a mechanical machine because the heavy duty machine I gre up with was clunky at times and the tension was always a challenge. I'm super happy with the Janome HD-5000BE. I did need to learn threading and bobbin winding on it, and it's easy once you get the hang of it. Stitches are beautiful top and bottom! Not clunky at all. I have been doing quilting with the walking foot and enjoying every moment!

In the photos I showed the existing channel lock. To set that channel lock I have to walk around to the back of the Long Arm to set it and walk back around to release it. My plan is to install two on either side in the front of the motor plate. I had to modify one of the new ones to have a left and a right as shown in one of the photos because when the motor plate is on one end or the other the channel lock wold be under the quilt and hard to reach! Love how easy it is to use, peel the backing, and iron on! I used it on fabric with the olfa circle cutter and it was just as easy as if it was not there. I love the panel because I wanted one that was a landscape and was wider than tall. I cut the panel and with lightweight batting under it I sewed it to my sweatshirt jacket. Then attached washaway stabilizer to my longarm and pinned the jacket in place and with different colors of Floriani thread I stitched the enhancements on the panel pieces. Then put fabric strips over the cuts. Then I washed the jacket to dissolve the stabilizer. Love it.

I am loving the Sew Steady Spinner Tray to hold all my Singer machine feet and other accessories, I originally purchased the drawer but I guess all these parts were too heavy. The drawers kept falling off and after several tries with double sided adhesive strips it just wouldn’t hold. This little drawer swings out on two sides of the table where it rests. Am much happier with this style! Thank you!
