I purchased this kit to be able to do some more adventurous polishing projects on my bike. I have so far polished the three main engine covers with outstanding results. The polishing machine and stand have performed brilliantly far better than my smaller drill based kit For this task. Great product and company. Delivery and communications have been first class. I looked at the reviews, someone said they wished they bought the bigger one, I believe in buying once and buying right, so I got the bigger one. It arrived promptly and good condition. I didn't want to bolt it to a bench and take up space so I bolted some wood to the bottom so I could put it in a work bench. I polished my motorcycle exhaust with it and it's come up a treat. Love it.

I converted an unused Clarke bench grinder to a metal polishing unit using this kit. It is an absolute doddle to fit and works straight out of the box. Results have been fantastic but I wish I had bought the larger 6" size - perhaps an upgrade in the near future? I feel the control will be better with the larger diameter and perhaps the larger diameter will put more surface area on the larger pieces that I polish. Sadly my wife also likes the machine which is pulling her into my mancave.... not ...

The speed is fixed (I have another machine which is speed adjustable) and is very quiet in operation. Add to the machine the extras that come with it and it is a bargain. I use the compounds on leather strops mounted on flat boards for sharpening/honing chisels and wood plane blades, also use the white compound for finishing the edges of kitchen knives. The compounds give a highly polished razor sharp edge to all my chisels, plane blades and knives. I have found the compounds slightly hard to apply to new leather strops, but a little heat from a heat gun onto the leather helps to get an even coating of the compound onto the leather strops.
