It's totally worth the effort-the warehouse is huge, and packed with all kinds of both domestic and tropical/exotic woods, and the folks I delat with were super helpful.

I plan to make a replacement pot handle with this Katalox / Mexican Royal Ebony Turning Wood Blank 2" x 2" x 8". If I do it right, it will be sturdy, heat resistant, and keep a 'mellow' finish. I think this was a very good choice.

I ordered ebony with the expectation I would be getting at least some usable material for the accent pieces I need to make. This photo is of three orders of three pieces each 2" X 3/8" X 12" ebony for fingerboards. My assumption is if this is supposed to be good enough for fingerboards, it will be fairly high quality. I haven't purchased Ebony in a long time, but this is not the quality I expected. of the 9 boards, one will be usable. I will look elsewhere for ebony.
