Bumper body easily fits a 23" section of a 3/16" sheet with the mounts on a 12" strap of 1/4" - about 30" length. We altered the lights pocket for rectangle surface mount style and cut 1/2" plate to mount tow rings. Decided to enlarge the tow pockets so they did pass-through to weld a bit stronger on the inside. This is the second set of these struts I’ve gotten from you guys. On my 2017 Tacoma and my 91 pick up. My only complaint/suggestion would be to include stainless hardware for the screws/nuts and include nylon lock nuts. I ended up buying some for my 91. And I need a couple stickers! Awesome product though, thanks!!

Installed on a 2011 Range Rover Supercharged. Very easy to install both switches and easy to get power from the engine bay fuse panel. Borrowed power from the hot at all times fuse for the horn because in theory, if the hood is open the horn isn’t getting used and plenty of ground locations available within reach of the pre terminated harness. Works like a charm. The switch is a nice touch in case you don’t want the light on every time you open the hood.

Honestly was not expecting to be this exited and impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness of this kit. This kit was basically pug and play. Only had to drill 1 hole for the pressure switch. Not sure if it comes with instructions as it does not need any. Super simple install.

Phenomenal product. If you are looking for premium quality with an extremely straight forward installation than look no further. If you can’t tell… the light bar puts out some serious lumens. I am extremely impressed by the fact that the tape was genuine A grade 3m. If you have ever used sticky backs than you know they are usually chinese garbage throw aways. Not the case here. I gave her the ol’ tug test and they are on there like white on rice. The switch is also stout and I like the attention...

I purchased back in August 2026 and just last Thurs Sept 10, installed. Great thought out clip system! No circlips to find after popping off...a well thought out design. Took longer to remove the old OEM than to put in these new AVRs. And Yes, They do hold the hatch open with the window down!!!!!!! Very Pleased with the purchase!!

Installation is a little harder than implied. You need either a short body drill or a 90d drill for the base supports and a rivet tool for the hood supports. Luckily I had those. Love how they work.

Light and hood struts are a must have! Even though we don’t spend a lot of time under our hoods, when we do have to do something under the hood it’s a game changer having both the struts and the light. It’s amazing how much more open the engine compartment feels. Thanks for making quality products!

These were fairly easy to install and after watching your video I was confident on installing the struts. The scary part was drilling the holes for the hardware. The struts are awesome and I don't have to deal with the hood prop anymore. Glad I installed them, the government for the prop was falling apart.

These work great! No more bumping my head. At first they went up just shy of all the way. I contacted AVR and the sent me another pair. Replaced one and still same result. I used the hood strut kit for the 1979 Toyota on my 1982 Toyota p/u, Slight modification to the ball mounts at the fenders, I bent them from 90 degree to almost 45 degrees to allow the strut to angle out to the hood mount, which needed to be attached to the hood backer which is slightly different than the 79 hood. Some nice not having to use the hood rod every time the hood needs to be lifted.
