My interest in your brush is definitely off brand. I do not have a daughter with tangly hair, but have had occasion to brush the hair of a child with hair that was a nightmare because it would continually catch and pull provoking a storm of protests and tears. Absolutely love this brush and the de tangling spray. My daughter has very long hair which is fine but with a lot of it. I tried various different types of brushes from tangle teasers to boar hair brushes and none of those worked for her, she would cry and complain about the pain from knots in her hair every time I brushed her hair. My 6yo daughter has lovely curly hair that gets very easily tangled.
