Really good! Personally I prefer a few of the other recipes but great to change it up. Had some of these on the Kalalau trail in Kauai and it felt very fitting.

The beef stroganoff is so good I’m tempted to eat it at home. Really good taste, if I’m really wrecked after a long effort this stuff goes down so easy.

No doubt that I will get the food and energy needed this year in the backcountry with this Peak bundle! In years past with other products I would almost have to force myself to eat but with Peak I look forward to fueling my body to hit the next ridge!

Wasn’t sure what to expect, I randomly bought this with a mix of mountain house and other brands. I regret not buying more of this flavor/brand, this is the best freeze dried meal I’ve ever had.

We use Peak Refuel meals for all of the 24+ hunters we take out each year. No other meals give you as much meat and calories, but most importantly these meals taste 10x better than any others on the market. Our hunters have said that they now eat Peak Refuel meals at home for dinner 😂

Over the years, we had our fair share of freeze dried meals from several companies and this Dhal is amongst the top 5 for sure. Had the luxury to have cilantro in the van so we chopped some and brought it on the hike. We wished there was a bit more chick peas tho.

Hands down, one of the best desserts, breakfast, or mid-hike treats out there! Sometimes I just can’t resist and make one at home whenever I’m craving something sweet and comforting!

We made the decision to take Peak on our 16 day trip across Colorado high altitude back country in our Jeep last fall. It was our first experience with any freeze dried food. I love to camp cook and normally do so, but this trip was about chasing the gold Aspens and hitting as many mountain passes as we could fit in. Time was important. I can’t express how surprised we were at the flavor and texture. I was prepared for them to be mediocre at best. I admit I was wrong. We learned we both had our ...

Got home late and wanted a treat so I figured I would “Field test” this since I had nothing else around. It’s honestly on par with gourmet peach cobbler from a restaurant. Was not expecting it to be that good and it digested so well. Can’t wait to have this on a top of mountain after along hike. GET THE BIG SPORK!

Peak Refuel has truly outdone themselves — This isn't just any spork, this is the best spork on the market. I've broken countless plastic sporks and lugged around heavy metal alternatives from other brands. This spork nails it in every category: length, shape, ultralight weight, and overall utility. Whether you're sipping soup, slurping noodles, or digging into a hearty Peak Refuel meal, this spork gets the job done — and then some. Thanks again Peak.

Quick, reliable and tasty! Still making my way thru this pack but the coconut chicken curry is better than most take out I've had. Also appreciate the higher calories in these meals compared to most other brands.

Excellent product! Tastes great and provides a good source of clean energy for a hard workout in the gym, a day out in the industrial job site, or a hard workout after working a 10-12 hour day on the job!

Love these on trail and for training. Was much needed on a recent 40 mile trek through dry southwest Colorado. My favorite flavor. Drank several throughout the days to keep hydrated, moving and for recovery. Was drink well over 100 ounces of water a day. These helped pound the fluids with a lead at flavor! Plus helped the filtered river water taste more tolerable.

Continually impressed by your meals! Loads of chicken and protein for recovery. A satisfying meal during a recent 40 mile trek. I must have been tired though cause I added too much water. Lol! Was still an awesome trail meal. Peak Refuel will be my go to meals. Worth the extra $$ over the many other brands I’ve tried over the past 30 years!!

When I climbed Kilimanjaro in 1999 the backpacking meals tasted nothing like this! Peak Refuel’s Chicken Coconut Curry is so delicious. Tender chunks of chicken meat, rice, large pieces of separately seasoned carrots and a sublime coconut curry sauce. I add hot red pepper flakes to taste for a spicy kick before rehydrating. Consider adding a little packet of that! Pro tip…remember to take the desiccant packet out before adding the hot water.

I did a side-by-side comparison of PR Breakfast Skillet with MH Breakfast Skillet & Peak Refuel wins HANDS DOWN. The pack was stuffed FULL of food that rehydrated easily & completely. Potatoes are diced instead of shredded which gives the dish a very homemade visual appeal & there are actual strips of green & red peppers throughout instead of just tiny dices you can't even taste in the other brand. The PR meal is quite savory, has a nice peppery spice to it without being overwhelming & is VERY f...

Can actually taste the chicken! And not ‘boiled chicken’ flavour, almost had a slightly BBQ or blackened chicken flavour to it. Not over salted like many dehydrated meals, as close to real food as you will get!

Had 2 packages of this one for our last road trip, ate one at a friend's house - fed 3 of us with a bit left over for the 2 of us for lunch the next day. We had the other one in the Oregon dunes Eel Creek Campground, was enjoyable both times even though I don't care for green beans. My teen daughter also enjoyed it and she is mostly vegetarian.

I bought several Peak Refuel meals. When they arrived, I wanted to try making up a couple of Peak Refuel meals for a taste test before I put them away in my pantry to have on hand - in case of emergency, camping, long term storage, or just a quick meal, if I decided I liked them. I absolutely LOVED the Butternut Dal Bhat.! I split it with my husband for lunch, and he liked it too! I ordered more. This is good enough to just pull out for a quick meal. I had my portion, and half of an apple, an...

This is by far the best meal in a pouch I’ve ever had. The flavors are all there. The texture is perfect. I would put this up against any restaurant quality curry. This is completely happy food. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let me just start by saying that I'm a Pesto snob. It's one of my favorite tastes & I'm VERY picky about it so I was pretty certain that I'd be disappointed in this meal. Well, I was absolutely wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal & it had just the right blend of creaminess & pungent pesto taste. If I had to come up with a criticism for this meal, it would be that the recommended amount of water to reconstitute it left the sauce very, very thick. Next time, I'm thinking I'll add a little bit mo...

Attended Stewart Creeks survival weekend (3 1/2 days) in Swan Valley Idaho, for a very exhausting but very fun class! I was pleased to learn that Peak Refuel sponsored the meals for the class! I would like to thank you for the generosity of your company for doing that! I have tried a couple of your meals and really thought they were superior to the other brands! I was able to try everything you make and was not ever dissatisfied with the flavor and quality of rehydrating the entrees! Days were 1...

The first Peak meal I had, randomly picked it up with a host of others for a big camping trip. Glad I had it on the last night or I'd have been bummed for each dinner after that. It's seriously good, good enough that I'd pay for it in a restaurant and not be mad good. I'll be sticking with Peak from here on out.

Surprisingly delicious, and chock full of calories! These are the same size as Mountain House meals but contain double the calories, and taste better to boot! The Sausage and Biscuits are to die for, it's about the best feeling ever waking up after hiking 12 miles and getting to eat that out in the backcountry.

Clearly I didn't buy enough. I went camping with my son's scout troop and they ate all of my Chad Mendes branded meals. I came home with none left and had to order more. Here is my son eating the Elk Ragu Pasta while reading in the Ellicott Rock Wilderness Area.

Easy-to-carry fast food with lots of calories to support my climb to the top. Very convenient and portable food, lightweight design, ideal for mountain climbing, give your backpack to reduce the burden, and let you get enough calories to climb the peak.

Tested this one out in the kitchen before hitting the trail with it. It’s going to be perfect wrapped up in a tortilla with some string or powdered cheese. The texture was great. The portions were good enough to make four good sized tacos. This picture is a whole bag on a dinner plate to gauge the size since I split my meals with my hiking partner.

I really don't like backpacking meals. I've tried most of them and been disappointed, not so with Peak Refuel. I had the Sweet Pork and Rice my first night. I put the water in and stirred it. I liked the spoon. I was so surprised at the taste. Ten minutes later I was happily eating. It was great. It made all the difference in my trip to have a really meal. I slept better and my energy level in the morning was really improved

Customer photo review of Beef Chili Mac

This is the first freeze dried meal I have ever tried, so I had no expectations and the chili mac sounded the least appetizing to me of the several I purchased. However, I am completely blown away! The texture is on point and truly tastes like a made-from-scratch meal. I did not quite catch the sweet chili sauce flavor, so I added some dried jalapeño flakes for a little zip. As I eat this while I write, I am thinking about how I could use these meals as a high calorie solution for daily work i...

I absolutely loved the packs! Strawberry Granola, Beef Stroganoff and Curry Chicken are 5 stars, delicious, filling and easy to make (just add water). Beef Marinara was tasty but the meat took longer to get soft. I’m a picky eater and was very scriptural to spend money on these, but the packs are worth every penny! I lived on them for 4 days in the mountains / Laugavegur trail in Iceland with no other food available.

I had been backpacking all day when I sat down exhausted. I threw my gear to the ground....and broke out this Homestyle Chicken and Rice. I followed the instructions on the package--and was blessed with a scrumptious treat. I am not going to lie---this chicken meal is perhaps the best freeze-dried dinner I have ever tasted. Often, we accept mediocrity in our backcountry cuisine--not anymore! I have tried all of the major brands out there, but none of them matches the quality and Peak Refuel...

I'm Southeast Asian and this curry, while mildly spiced, was very Thai. While not quite what I would get in Thai restaurants from home and straight out of my Thailand trips, it's more than decent when out camping. Protip: use 1 1/2 cups water and not what rhe label says, trust me you will be grateful you did.

This meal came just at the right time! Best backpacking desserts I have had, hands down. The mountain berry cobbler tastes fresh and hardly needs any water. Definitely a must-have in the pack.

Honestly so stoked about the Mountain Berry Cobbler! I've had 3 or 4 of them in the last 2 weeks regardless of if I was at home or camping in the Uinta's. The flavor & consistency is amazing and it goes extremely well with ice cream if you have that option! (It's also a great cure to your S/O hangriness...haha)

Getting a freeze dried peach cobbler to be as good as the classic dutch oven dessert is a tall order. Peak freaking nailed it with this one though. Easily coming on every camping and backpacking trip now!

Flavor-wise, this meal is well seasoned, and the large biscuits are tasty and filling. I added double the recommended water and a few minutes more to the wait time, but every reconstituted well. The peppered gravy is creamier than other backpacking meals I've tried, and tastes more homemade. Excellent!

This meal was incredible delicious AND reminded me of a meal my grandfather who just passed away used to make us. Made it even more awesome to have and enjoy. Absolutely loved this meal can’t wait to eat it again on the mountain during my archery hunt. Hopefully after a successful harvest
