Customer's Albatros model boat showing the wooden deck construction on a building plan.

Robert S.

Great Model! However, for a model of this caliber amd price I would have expected the dead eues to have been more acciratly drilled. I had to redrill everyone. It would have been great to have the brass stantions as well.

Reviewer's wooden model ship hull on construction plans, being sanded with sandpaper from the pack.

Customer's Ulises RC boat model on a workbench, showing a partially constructed wooden hull and a finished sailboat model.

Gerard V.

The hull of the Ulises has been filled and is currently drying. Before reaching this stage, I first sanded the planked hull with coarse 60-grit sandpaper. I then applied a full coat of filler over the entire hull and allowed it to dry for 24 hours before sanding it smooth with 120-grit sandpaper. Next, I applied two coats of diluted varnish. The advantage of this is that it fills any small gaps and makes the hull watertight at the same time. After that, I sprayed the hull with spray filler (high...

Customer's wooden Maqueta del Gjøa boat deck on top of assembly instructions.

So far so good! The quality is there, nice to work with real wood, instructions are really clear, video step by step are nice. Everything taking is place like it should be. I’m not a professional modeler, but I love challenge and this kit will be perfect for acquiring experience! Thanks OcCre and looking forward to see your next limited edition series!

The Beagle is my first boat model, I have been very impressed by the quality and consistency of the parts. I'm 4 weeks into the build and just finishing second layer of the hull. Very ADDICTIVE hobby, made some silly mistakes but thankfully recovered OK and really pleased with progress. Very happy with instructions and video so far BUT dreading the rigging (in a nice way). So far i would 100% recommend Occre products. Also like to add that I contacted Occre about a couple of things and responses...

I am very, very satisfied with my Albatros kit. The quality of the wood and the precision of the laser cutting is amazing. The quality of the castings is awesome, there is no casting flash to remove, they are ready to paint and install. The instructions are straight forward, and the 1/1 scale drawings are extremely helpful. I also find OCCRE's U-Tube channel very helpful. Being able to watch certain procedures done, helped me very much. I was a little apprehensive at first as this is my first wo...

This was my first ever attempt to build a wooden model ship. This is why a chose a beginner level kit. The instructions were great, the kit pieces were perfect and included extra pieces where needed. I learned a lot about the art of ship building and plan to try a medium level challenge next. I highly recommend OcCre kits for their quality. Thanks for the experience! Richard

Black Swan! This is my second pirate; after the Brig Corsair, I'm really enjoying this model. I don't think it's simpler, no, the materials and instructions are simply better. I finished the hull in less than two months.

This is my first adventure in to the world of model wooden ships. Being an ex cabnit maker and working with wood and also been making plastic models for a number of years. It seemed this kit is well withing my skill set and ability. I got the royal fortune as looked a very nice kit to start with and I am impressed with the layout of the kit and the instructions and video tutorials. This was my first ship model build. It took me 34 days to complete. I've put my heart and mind into it. What an enriching experience! High quality materials and a good level of detailed instructions. I can't believe it is finished. I'm sad and happy at the same time and just can't get enough looking at it. This will be an airloom piece to be handed down from father to son and so on. Thank you Occre!

The wood filler is unique, application was easy and its consistency was perfect filling small cracks and voids in the hull to make the second planking layer even and smooth. Once again OcCre has proved themselves with their quality line of products.

Marcin A.

I recently received the paint pack for the Belle Poule model and I’m already impressed. The colours look rich and well selected, and the bottles seem to be good quality. The paint consistency appears smooth and workable, which is promising for fine detailing. The set matches the kit nicely, which should simplify the finishing process. I haven’t fully used all the paints yet, but so far — great job! I’m looking forward to putting them through their paces during the build.

The organizer tower is a nice compliment to the workstation, giving you an extra 6 slots for trays that are sized for the tray that comes with the OcCre model. The quality of the arterials and laser cutting makes fabrication makes assembly a breeze. Highly recommend!
