It may sound silly, but I actually DO love this drop stand, which is designed for use with the Lazlo ballpoint pen.
It is so solid, so dense and so beautiful, that it pleases and satisfies me to simply gaze at it, while holding it and feeling its substantial weight as I look at the softly glowing sheen of its brass body. I’d assign 10 stars for this review if I could!
So, if you’re on the fence about buying it, I’d like to encourage you to go ahead and do so!

A sweet little device. I was gifted a Blackwing pencil. When I saw this tool on sale I thought it a fitting companion for the pencil.
Being familiar with woodworking planes, I was quick to familiarize myself with its use.
When you first get it, I’ve found that setting the blade height is essential, as with any plane. Keep the exposure of the blade to a minimum for a finer cleaner shear if material. Secondly, skew the sharpening angle of the pencil to the blade as you sharpen it.

The writing experience with Lazlo is just amazing. It’s a bit heavy in your hand but glides over paper in a smooth way, it’s a delight and you can’t stop writing.
The only teensy thing that might need improvement - although I don’t know how it’s possible - is that some ink seems to be leaking onto the cork stand - making it blacker and blacker inside and the screw gets slightly loose over a bit of time. Tiny details, but that doesn’t affect the beauty of the object. Really glad of my purchase

A little issue with customs, but they fixed it for me. I love this pen, it’s really nice. Things I would change: shorten it by about 1 inch, but the heft always me a loose grip, and the size for the cartridge choice is great, I never used this type of ink refill before and I’ve been missing out. For most of my life I have sharped pencils with a pocket knife. I really love this sharpener as it gives me more control over the finish of the pencil point, even chalk pencils for sewing which are notoriously difficult to sharpen and very wasteful. I urge you to give the black wing pencils a go as well!

It looks like a mini wood plane and that's exactly what it is, it took a while to perfect my pencil sharpening with this tool however once you get the knack it's easy and very relaxing to use.
I bought it along with the leather sheath and walnut base.

Stunning colour and feel. Great weight and good grip on the base! fantastic tuning to diameter too. Absolutely love it. Looks fantastic standing up on my desk and have made many friends jealous.
Negatives (really nitpicking):
-The numbers have a slight "shadow" on the outside where I assume the cutting tool had marked, this is very very faint.
-When iris stands on base, it is a little rocky and tends to lean forwards with the weight of the brass on the front.

Good morning! Just wanted to say that I've been undecided about this product for months, but I'm glad I took the plunge.
