I wanted a heavy duty machine for some time. This doesn’t disappoint. The embroidery functions are better than expected. The self threading needle, thread tie off and cut are a joy. A paper manual would be useful but I downloaded and printed the one on line so I could annotate as I worked through it. All very straightforward as expected from a Singer.

Very powerful machine, not the quietest I have used but not unbearable. It goes through 4 layers of denim without hesitation. I found it also goes through the plastic foot wedge without hesitation also after misaligning it! Very easy to thread, stitch selection also very easy. My only gripe would be the lack of a speed control maximum slider switch. I have found a rotary "hidden" control on the foot pedal but not noticed it having much effect, maybe there is a accessory one that will do the job....
