Overall it’s a pretty good experience. Dry clear installation instructions. Had a minor hiccup with missing video cable pigtail which made it a little tricky to connect the oem video cable but nothing that a little MacGyvering couldn’t resolve. Super clear screen and responsive interface. While the interface is pretty straightforward and self explanatory a user manual might be useful to explain the impact of some of the system configuration settings.

Easy install! Works amazingly well and looks OEM! Would highly recommend the Linux screen if you want the advantages of a bigger display, carplay / android auto, but none of the bloat from an android tablet based screen.

Excellent product, looks and feels OEM. Only issue I had was once installed, my radio said disabled. I had to move 1 12v wire within the new harness to provide this needed signal.

Excellent replacement for my old OEM screen in my F30. I opted for this Linux model due to its fast booting, really only takes 3 seconds, and needed CarPlay functionality only anyways. Screen looks fantastic day and night time. Although no glare option available for this model, it does have anti reflection coating and does the job. Works as described. Paul was very helpful. Not as difficult as I thought to install, but I did take my time (2h) and did it professionally. I have the NBT system so the aux (front) works without having to thread cables to the centre console. I also use the original phone via BMW as it is faster to connect than the Android screen. I have stopped using CarPlay and have downloaded all the apps I need to use directly from the Android with a sim card. Reverse camera takes a few seconds longer to come...

Car looks brand new! I have a 2013 X3 and was thinking of upgrading to a newer year until I got this new screen! It’s like having an entire tablet at your fingertips. I’m tech savvy, but I don’t consider myself to be ‘installation savvy’ but I was able to install independently with a little help from my brother. I was able to cancel my installation with BestBuy and I’ve been happy since!

I’m absolutely impressed with the features and quality of engineering Paul puts into this HifiMax CarPlay upgrade. Installed into a 2012 F10 550, it has the envy of a 2023 Audi owner. A little learning curve for navigation between BMW OEM and CarPlay, but once there it is seamless to use. Only item: Install could use a little clearer instruction.

Great head unit for 2013 BMW Z4 E89 without an OEM screen or iDrive controls and rear camera. I purchased the android 12.25” screen and rear camera. Installation was easy using the instructions. Some minor figments with base of unit fitting in the dash that were easily fixed. Run into an issue with rear camera video but Paul was great in communicating even over the weekend and that was resolved. Great unit I would highly recommend and the support was outstanding!

I couldn’t be happier with how well this upgrade turned out. Relatively simple to install and everything works better than I had anticipated. Plug n play with the factory radio. The idrive is a nice touch and even the factory buttons on my steering wheel will skip songs on the unit which was an unexpected surprise. Overall I’m very pleased with how well it works and how good it looks.

Product quality is good and it looks great. Change the whole look of the car. Everythig works like promised. The size of the screen is massive at 12.3 inches compared to the old one. Now the installation is easy, but you need patience to put all the wires in the tight spaces, but if you're patient you'll be rewarded. The screen is amazing. It arrived quickly and in perfect conditions. The installation is not difficult but it requires a bit of time. Pulling out the connections was the most difficult part. Once installed, the change is huge compared to OEM screen. Thanks to Paul for his constant support when I needed help or had questions. Will be buying another one for my other car very soon!

I have to say the hardware is exceptional. Seamless in the way it functions with idrive. The size of the screen is massive at 12.3 inches compared with the 8.8 oem. Now the installation is not easy, not sue to hardware though. It's the tight space to work with but if you're patient you'll be rewarded. To say it changed how the car feels is an understatement.

Got the kit in the mail very quickly. Installed it immediately on my 2011 535. Followed the instructions and got the MMI box to work right away.
