The Spout Box assembled shortly after arrival and it was warm enough to fill with fresh soil. That is all frozen solid now and ready for the next storm. Planning now for planting in the spring.
For assembly I installed the braces higher up as the base was dug into the ground to prevent outward spread. Nice solid construction and easy assembly with good hardware.

I received my 8 boxes, and waiting for spring to arrive in Ontario and away I will go gardening. We have built a new home and to the west side the sprout boxes will be placedWe are beekeepers and in the fall there is allot to do with taking care of the honey Bees extracting ,Honey ,cleaning wax to make bee wax candles and vendor shows we do . We love the Sproutboxes and are gradually converting all our wooden beds to them. The 17" height is perfect to put some woody material below to encourage mycorrhizal fungi to interconnect plants and topsoil/compost on top. Our first order of several of these were put in a new greenhouse, and they are very easy to manage and are producing well. We started with a stick/log hugle-cutlure base, added our own bio-char along with soil and compost. The next "set" will go outside and we've planted some of our garlic in them this fall, so we'll see how that works. After 12+ years of constant upkeep of our scrounged wood raised beds, this is soooo much easier!
