This remote is somewhat notorious for being poorly designed, but, by all appearances, Edifier mercifully made it a short-lived product. It only warrants replacement because there is no [universal remote] alternative, and the monitor it controls is well worth keeping in service. Although this particular remote is less than stellar, Edifier's commitment to providing excellent customer service remains very much intact, and Edifier products are always worth the consideration of discerning audiophile...

The left speaker produces noticeable buzzing (louder than the primary tone) in the range of 452-505 Hz due to mechanical vibrations inside the cabinet, tested with:

Pressing HARD on the middle of the back side of the speaker can make this stop, but that's not a solution.
The right (active) speaker does not demonstrate these issues.
