This was so much more comfortable for our dog. He didn't fight it as much as a regular cone. But he did try to take it off. He couldn't get it off but did manage to get his ears underneath the plastic from time to time. I think if he has a third eye surgery, I'll try the vizor. Love: Excellent adjustable fit. Nose guard is a little long but softens enough so doesn't impede breathing. Dislike: Clips are far too fragile in comparison to the robustness of the mask. Good for breakaway but could be a little tougher for the intended use.

I’ve used the mask without ears for years after my mare’s eye surgery, with great success. With fly season coming up, I thought my mare might appreciate some ear protection too, so I bought the model with ears. It looked great, but somehow my mare kept losing it in the field. Not sure what about this model made it easier to get off, but she did, and we had to go back to the earless model (which we love!)

Because our greyhound has pannus, we needed UV light protection for her eyes. We tried several "doggie goggles" but she was not pleased with the way they fit around her face, and I know they interfered with her vision. So, Optivisor to the rescue. She tolerates the fit of the visor much better than the goggles, and she doesn't bump into things anymore! Also, the staff was very helpful in getting us the proper sizing. Thank you!

We have a central asian shepherd and his head is very wide. The cone is a tad narrow for his head but it works. We are also having to use tape to keep the tabs from slipping out. Could not have done this surgery without it though!!!! Overall, great product.

My horse has uveitis and always has weepy eyes. The vet said to keep him indoors during daylight hours. Did not want to do that....purchased this product. The horse does not mind it one bit. Overall I like the optivizor. My dog doesn't mind wearing it most of the time although sometimes he rubs his face across the floor. I like it for outside as my dog's one remaining eye has no vision and there is a slight possibility it may return in a few weeks. I like that it keeps him from poking his eye into bushes or branches in the yard. I didn't have that much trouble getting it to fit and only needed some minor alterations.

The “with ears” version of my EquiVisor was not available, back ordered, and I’d prefer that, but I love the permanent nose piece on the one I got for my horse who just had nose surgery. And so far he has not been able to remove the hood. Bravo!

I googled Horse Ultra Violet Light Fly Masks and your masks showed up. I ordered one that came with the nose piece. The horse did very well with it until he accidentally got it caught somewhere and broke one of the plastic clasps. However, I noticed that the nostril area got quite dirty as his head is down on the ground to eat, so when I ordered the replacement clasp, I ordered another ultraviolet mask without the nose piece. So far, so good!

Corneal ulcer quickly infected with Fusarium fungus. Mare required corneal transplant with graft. Visor very effective in protecting the eyes and putting the fly mask over it keeps light out of the surgical eye and not only flies away, but also prevents shavings & debris from accumulating beneath the visor. Only downside is the visor needs a thicker protective padding around edges to prevent face sores, and softer more skin friendly straps!

Mask has decent structure around the eyes to hold it off from pressing on the eyes. I wish it had fleece on the seam at the bottom of the mask where nose flap attaches. It rubbed hair off my horses nose at the seam

The UV fly mask is better for protecting his eyes and also stays on. He always takes other fly masks off. So. being he is an appoloosa and prone to eye problems. This seems to be the best mask we've ever had for him.

These are great fly masks as long as naughty boys don't play too rough. The plastic buckles break easy but if you can sew you can replace them. The mask itself is heavy duty & very well made. It's like a cross between a baseball cap & mosquito net for horses.

I bought the Equivisor mask hoping that it would be harder for my horse to remove it. He has a malignant sarcoid on his ear and it is important to protect it from flies. Unfortunately the extra straps have not prevented him from removing it so honestly a less expensive mask would do the same thing. Otherwise the mask is fine but it is not doing the job that I bought it for.
