The weight in the sand plates 18lbs on the nose, you do have to be sure and pack the sand when filling to get it there but fantastic!.
I haven’t tried any steel plates yet but will soon.

Although, there does seem to be a break in period because I use them for jui Jitsu. I absolutely love them! The quality was unexpected because they are really nice! They are a bit tight but I think it’s because they are confirming to my knees. Definitely worth the price.
