I bought 10 of these coins for my brothers and sisters in honor of our brother, Harvey Lynn Cooley and one for his son. Harvey was an Army Medic and died a hero in Vietnam May 6, 1968. Harvey had a 6 month old son when he died. All of my siblings and Harvey’s son love these coins. As one of my brothers said, they are “truly breathtaking”.

I want to star by saying I served in the military but not Vietnam. That conflict was over when I enlisted. Still I do know those who did serve in Vietnam. While stationed at Ft. Lewis, 9th Infantry, 1975-1977, an Air Cav. unit was based there. UH-1's, Cobra gunships & Kiowa scout helicopters. If we went to the main PX during the week, the pilots were practicing hovering maneuvers among other flight plans. During the summers, our field artillery battalion would go to Yakima Firing Center along with other units from Lewis. Of course, one of them were the Air Cav. Since this area was high desert with no trees, the pilots would fly by terrain, meaning...
