I was a Huey CrewChief in Vietnam in 1967-68 as a member of the 339th (DS) Company operating out of Phu Hiep, so this pin is a good addition to my small collection of memorabilia. The Huey was a great bird for its time and a supper workhorse of its day. I fell in love with that bird and can remember the sound to this day.

Now a volunteer with the Space Coast Honor Flight Program which sends Veterans from all time frames to Washington D.C. to see all of the memorials to veterans there. A good pin worth the money. It brought back memories of my days in Nam. However, I never flew a combat assault in a Huey equipped with doors. The doors were always removed to make the air ship lighter. WE always flew like an open hallway in a barn.

I think it’s the greatest thing I could place in my hat. Being one from Viet Nam, we didn’t even come back with any welcome or others. I was drafted by the Army as a Sniper. Within 3 months I was promoted to Sargent Major, because I never missed a target. I stopped counting after 500 kills. Because I never missed they kept me for 4 years. Instead of 2.
