I ordered the Smartwings roller shades with the Apple HomeKit compatible motor. Installation was extremely easy and took about 30 minutes to do all 3. Connecting to HomeKit was even easier. I already had an Apple TV I use as a hub so all I had to do is scan the QR code on each shade, name them and set them up in HomeKit. This is our 6th shade that we installed. After the first shade order that took about 3 hours to install due to our own screw-up of factory resetting the device, all of the others took 15 minutes tops to install and program. Very easy and works nicely with Echo / Alexa devices. We upgraded to a new Echo (not an Echo Dot) which has ZigBee and makes finding new devices so easy. Absolutely love the SmartWings blinds. This is a no brainer. 1. Packaging was impeccable. Multiple layers of protection. 2. Assembly instructions were clear and simple to understand. 3. The metal bar holding the blind is flexible. Our blinds were extra wide and came with 3 mounting plates. Once mounted the metal bar becomes stiff and the blinds function exceptionally well. 4. I got quotes from multiple companies for a motorized blackout shade to go behind our blinds—lowest quote was just under $2,000 for one window.
