I am strictly using this to manually zap myself if I engage in a skin-picking behavior. I give high marks to the zap itself - it is strong enough to make me want to avoid it and started to change my behavior right away. My complaint is that it can be difficult to initiate the zap manually because there is not a simple button to push. I have been using Shock Max for almost a month, it has issues with staying connected to Pavlok app but even trying to connect multiple times it doesn’t really connect while u are getting shocked. I hope they come up with an update to solve this issue. Even with the alarm on, I don’t why I am not still wake up sometimes I think disables the Alarm by its self even after using all the features, puzzle unlock, disable snooze, escalating alarm and Smart alarm options.

It woke me up (that part worked fine). Getting it to stop shocking me after it woke me involved deleting the alarm and setting up a fresh alarm because inputting the pattern wasn't enough to get it to stop. Couldn't figure out how to get it to do anything else. (Very unintuitive) The habit tracker was a good idea poorly implemented. The pavlok max is a nice piece of equipment. I didn't realize, though, that the functionality is not yet up to the point of previous devices. I've switched back to my pavlok 3 for the time being as it does so much more. I hope the max will eventually get there.

The only way for the band to go off is by setting alarms, not through habits. So I currently have 9 alarms set, only 1 to wake up, the rest are just reminders for different things so the band goes off. Because of all the alarms it can't track my sleep, it tries to track it after every alarm, even if they're less than an hour apart. It works, but the band needs to be integrated with the habits function on the app, and be able to set multiple reminders per habit, then it would be great.

I’m unsure whether I want to keep it. I have no hearing in one ear and very poor hearing in the other, so I cannot hear the alarm. The vibration is barely felt even when I’m awake and will not awaken me. While the shock is able to awaken me, none of the daytime functions interest me. It seems an unreasonably expensive alarm clock.

It’s ok, trying to get the settings right so it actually wakes me up. Had the escalating on and it starts so low I don’t feel it till 20 minutes after it starts so I had to turn that off and turn the shock to 100 ouch!!
