Customer photo review of Gourmet Baby Greens Mesclun Lettuce Seeds

What did you do to make this thing so gritty!? I got a pack of this as a welcome gift and had no idea what to do with it so I decided to throw this into my hydroponic system... in less than 2-3wks, I had a full harvest... just let my wife harvest it when she wants... 3mon later I'm like... OK... so how's it... oh dang! the water line is down to less than half and the nutrition is legit less than 20% of what it should be (only 94ppm!?!!??)... and yet, that photo is what you see! I literally plant...

I started the ground cherry at the same time as my tomatoes, and they germinated easily and the plants are strong and beautiful! I will gift a few away and plant the rest. I can't wait to add this unique plant to the garden!

My first nigella in zone 9b!!! I will grow so many more next year! They are the cutest! I had to cold stratify them way back in the Nov/Dec/Jan time for April blooms but high germination!! They are so cute!!

These aren’t easy to grow unless you do it right. These really should be started indoors, thinned once the seedlings get two to three sets of true leaves, then transplanted whatever container you are going to use. Since the seeds are so tiny, they need to be started pretty much on top of the soil, but the challenge is keeping them from drying out. That can be solved by placing the seeds on top, lightly pressing them in, and then covering them with a thin layer of fine vermiculite to retain moist...

This was a very successful variety! Despite some rather crazy weather in Zone 8b during the 2024 season - including record highs and lows. Despite all that, this cauliflower not only grew, but thrived. Once harvested it was absolutely delicious. Definitely will be growing again!

I direct seeding and indoor seeded all my lettuce. The ones in the picture, I literally hand tossed in the areas to make a pattern. I will harvest these by leaf as I need. The indoor seeded ones, I have thinned to individual plants. I plan to harvest these as a head. This picture shows one of my favorite plantings.

I think I might have waited too long to direct sow the sweet pea. It might get too hot before it blooms. It is growing much slower than my snap peas.

Curly parsley is growing well, a little slow to germinate but both the curly and flat parsley germinated. Unfortunately, the flat parsley is struggling. My direct seeded flat parsley did much better than my indoor seeding.

We have always had bad experiences growing from seed (except winter and summer squash). We decided to try your starter kit. Our success surprised us! The Clancy Potaoes were the first vegetable we tried and they are doing very well! So far we have peppers, celery, basil, peas…..and we still have more to start. The Starter Kit was worth it!

I live in Deep South West Louisiana and have never heard of ground cherries ever! I am truly excited to try! I started only one from seed indoors and transplanted 2 weeks ago into my raised bed. I have beautiful blooms already as you can see in picture!

Customer photo review of Jewel Amethyst Eggplant Seeds
Andrew B.Verified
I have had a nearly perfect gemination rate on all my BI seeds. I have struggled in the past to grow eggplant (in central Texas), but these seem to be thriving in my garden in Orange County, CA. I started to have caterpillars but took care of them. Plant is flowering and I should be getting eggplants soon. Very happy thus far - I recommend a seed starting tray w/ a warmer if you're in coastal CA where it's always cool.

I planted these off season because my greenhouse was finished just in October. I started an Epic six pack of 15 seeds and got 12 plants. One went in a raised bed and the other I planted in hanging baskets. Comparing them to ones I've eaten from the local grocer and ones from a plant someone gave me from Home Depot....these are the best! I'm excited to hopefully have an early start to this year's crop and will definitely be planting more. I'm still learning the right amount of watering as well...

Customer photo review of NuMex Lemon Spice Jalapeño Chile Pepper Seeds
Anders J.Verified
18 out of 20 seeds successfully germinated and I transplanted the 11 strongest to larger planters. The flavor is very good, spice is slightly more mild than typical jalapenos, and these pair well with many foods (especially breakfast foods). All plants have multiple peppers 4 months after first sowing the seeds, though none have begun changing to yellow as of 7/6/24

Beautiful and tasty plants that add so much ornamental value to my garden. I’m only growing them in containers right now but a line of these plants will be a rainbow in the garden. Highly recommend. The picture doesn’t do it justice but the pink and white stemmed one is so bright and pretty in person.

I purchased the Quick Snack Cucumber seeds in hopes to add it to my Small Space Garden Plant sale in the Spring. I wanted to test it out over the Winter to be certain of its performance and if passed my rigorous testing, I want to be able to give my customers and honest review. I grew sowed 8 seeds. 100% germination. 5 stars for that category. I grew them in Quart sz containers, which is the size containers that I will sell the plants in. They absolutely thrived. 5 stars for that category as w...

After growing in containers for several years, I decided to upgrade to raised beds. After extensive research, I opted for Birdies metal raised beds and ordered 17 beds. Of course, assembly and placement takes some time and effort but not as much as you might imagine. I love the look and feel of the beds and can't wait for results next summer!

This is the first year I'm growing this particular tomato. The seed germination rate was very high (...nearly 100%). I've tried 3 other bush tomatoes from BI, but this specific one grows the most vigorously (speed and leaves). Looking forward to a good fruiting season. So far so good!

I planted three Okra seeds and all germinated! Currently, they are still just babies waiting to grow a bit more while mother nature heats up the okra zone in the garden. This is the first year I've attempted growing Okra, but I'm excited to see if I like the flavor better having grown it myself.

Customer photo review of Alaska Variegated Nasturtium Seeds+1
Hermine V.Verified
This season, I ordered all my seeds from BI. I followed Kevin from Epic Garden and was convinced by him to order my seeds from BI. Unfortunately, the germination rates on most of those ordered seeds were low to zero. A few of them performed very well, like these fabulous Alaska Variegated Nasturtium Seed, which I will definitely order again. However, most of the rest of the ordered seeds showed tragically zero germination, like all of my ordered determined tomato seeds.

I live in Georgia zone 8a. Got a bit of a late start with these, but they popped up without any trouble. They are in full sun most of the day. For something so dainty they are strong and unfazed by our heat and humidity. Have I mentioned butterflies? Everywhere! Along with finch and humming birds, they are Grand Central Station for wild life! Lovely cut flower and last forever in the vase as long as you keep them filled with water. I’ve had these in my little Botanical Interests Box for ...

This is our first time growing fava beans and we couldn’t be more pleased. It’s so exciting to watch them grow. Planted them in mid-March as soon as our soil thawed (zone 6b) and just got our first bloom this weekend (May 18th). So pretty! Can’t wait for more!

Customer video review of Lavender Lady Gomphrena Seeds
Link R.
I am a huge fan of Botanical Interests, and grow many of their varieties. This year I started Lavender Lady and Fiery Sunrise Gomphrena in 50 cell deep plug trays in January. Germination was excellent! I read that gomphrena germination was not very good, but that wasn't my experience. I will grow Lavender Lady every year, and possibly Fiery Sunrise when I see what they look like in full bloom.

Started these from seed 5/9 and by 5/12 there was already germination. I sprinkled quite a few in each container so no telling what the true germination rate will be yet as I’m sure more will continue to pop up but I’m excited for what’s already growing! Shipping was also quick. Ordered on a Wednesday afternoon and they shipped that Friday & arrived the following Wednesday. I’ve already ordered more for a cut and come again flower garden!

Love this seed starting guide to a of helpful tips, even if this isn’t your first growing season! As with everything Botanical Interest, the illustrations are beautiful. My favorite the veggie sowing guide, so nice to have all the sowing info in one place organized by start week. I just highlighted what I was going to grow, put the date next to each section for this year and boom! I had an instant sowing calendar. Helped me stay super organized I will do the same next year.

Customer photo review of San Marzano Roma Pole Tomato Seeds+1

Started these in trays inside for about 4-6 weeks. Hardened off and planted Feb 1st. Started harvesting mid April and continuing to produce into May. I’m zone 9b Florida. Pests were a huge issue all season with the other varieties, but not these. Will definitely plant again next year. Only negative is that these arent all san marzano’s, some look like Romas or other plum tomatoes. Made a bunch of fresh sauce with these - love it!
