Definitely needed since the poles were almost through the bottom. I don't like that they interfere with the pouches hanging in the front. You either don't use the pouches in the front or you poke a hole through the pouch as well. I've tried both ways and they work. Must rivet on yourself!

The mounting screws were not the correct size. I had to pay out of pocket for the correct size screws. I called prior to my order to confirm if they are correct and was told that they are and to place the order. I place a 2nd order for the universal key and was given 2 keys the first broke immediately on the first try the 2nd works fine but they are flimsy. I would like a free replacement key as the one i got was defective at no cost to me.

I like the ergonomics of the tent but I am disappointed in the quality of some of the finishes. The fabric isn't of the quality that I expected when compared to the tent that it replaced and it was of the same price point. The latches don't operate smoothly especially when you have bedding inside the unit. The replacement piece I received is the exact size of the opening of the rooftop window. Unfortunately the tares in my widow along the edges of the stitched seam so it did not work. I do not see how it can be repaired unless the replacement piece is larger than the opening and it gets re-stitched . The only other way to it seems is to replace the whole top piece which is $500. ☹️
