I would say the fitting was a little bit of a chore. I have used these several times now and I think I have it figured out. I kept using smaller ear pads, and what I needed was the medium size pad with the orange lining. The volume setting when in hearing protection is great, I have not needed to turn volume up when shooting but for use while running power tools I needed to turn up volume to hear conversations. I have hearing problems left over from my military days. Hearing in one ear was destroyed decades ago and the other suffered significant damage. The AXIL digital hearing protection are great. Absolutely love these and they’re a game changer if you’re looking for a better cheekweld. I had issues getting the perfect alignment cause of the bulky headphones and these fixed that. I was recently at the range and someone was shooting a 300 Remington with a break right next to me while I was spotting and these protected my ears flawlessly.

This is my second set of the 2.0. The first one I purchased 3 1/2 years ago and there are improvements over my first purchase. My first set started having problems with turning the bluetooth switch on and off and then one earpiece quit working. I use the Axil allot and I like its function and design. Used these as ear plugs at work in refinery and used to shoot at indoor range. They work fantastic in both formats. Have used them hunting to enhance hearing worked good. Bought them to use while riding bicycle they work great without the sound enhancement mode, in enhancement mode to much wind noise. Otherwise great product.

After my first day I was a little concerned with the fit of the ear buds. I was using the max protection foam tips and had trouble with the right ear bud slipping out of my ear. The second time using these I just focused on squishing the bud down better and getting it deeper into my ear. This worked better and the fit was comfortable and worked perfectly. The mic seemed to pick up more room noise than voices but I probably just need to work on the proper level needed.

Bluetooth feature on an over the head module is great. Can have comms without radio attachments, still hear surrounds, noise cancelation if necessary, DB rating is as sufficient as other are. Only single complaint is the bulk. If I wanted to mount the to a helmet with ops core amp arms I think they would be to large. Additionally other color ways would also be a great market. FDE, camo or coyote etc. All around great set of ear pro capable of all the normal use and needs

Finally electronic hearing protection that actually works! Been shooting a long time and prefer in the ear / molded ear pro vs. muffs. I can't tell you the number of times I've returned electronic hearing protection because they did not work indoors. Also, I've skipped over ads because of the high prices. Tried 3 tips on the ear buds, 3rd one was the charm. The Bluetooth connected immediately to my phone and the sound is good. When on the range the sound is muffled well, and with a flip of the switch you can carry on a conversation. Feel like I will be very happy with these in the long run, time will tell.

I bought these for my husband who does woodworking and the tools tend to be very loud. He loves these headphones/ear protection and wears them for everything now. He loves that you can adjust things to hear your surroundings while the high pitched noises are drowned out. He wears them for doing yard work as well now. Although I intend on trying these for shooting, my main use will be for when I run my tractor. I tried them out...work great! I can protect my ears from the tractor noise, yet still hear music at a safe level, if I choose. I tried that as well, and it works good. I also like that if someone needs to speak to me, I can turn up the volume for having a conversation - then go back to my noisy tractor - without having to remove and reinstall ear plugs!
