I purchased this bat for my son Tyler. Tyler is the captain of the Worcester State Lancers baseball team. This summer, he was selected to play on the Worcester Bravehearts (Futures baseball) and is currently playing on the Lunenburg Phillies ( college summer baseball ). Tyler asked if I would purchase the bat as he used a Tater bat while he was with the Bravehearts. He absolutely loves the look, feel , and pop that gets using the bat. My daughter plays Little League AAA with the boys… she actually developed a bone bruise in her hand from so many hours in the cage. So we got her these Tater balls that are the same size and weight as a regular baseballs but just less impact on her hands. Then I started using them with my whole team and everybody loves them. We use a Hack Attack Jr and it works perfect… much better than using leather balls in the hack attack.

Outstanding tool. It’s a short bat, overload, split grip and 1 hand bat in one well made wood bat. My 14U son is already seeing results. An addition of a V-bat and an underload bat, you will have everything you need to train this winter and beyond. Split grip is essential to training young hitters to stay top hand “palm up” and increase line drives (decrease pull side grounders and oppo lazy fly balls). Outstanding product!!!

These balls are great machine balls. I have used them so far for skill work stations (drag/push bunts) as well as blocking and receiving for catchers out on the field. They are very firm foam and go through the hack attack without any issue at all.

I’ve scowled through the foam baseball scene for about two years. Trying just about every brand on internet. Tater foam balls take the crown. They are the hardest most dense foam I’ve found. And they are the same weight as a baseball. Which leads to more consistency. Most others are lighter, so spin can be less efficient. Love this bat! Already getting tons of use out of it. First trainer bat I'd recommend to anyone, and it's really worth getting the name-brand Tater -- I tried a cheaper one last year and the weight wasn't right for one-handed training, it was just a short bat and didn't do anything for the swing. Took batting practice with my new Torpedo Tater bat, 33 1/2 -2 with the grip on bat felt great in my hand. First swing, I crushed a ball on the sweet spot and it felt amazing. I hit every ball except one on the sweet spot and the ball just jumped off bat. The one I didn't hit off sweet, was hit off end of bat, no stinging at all, no vibration!
I can't wait to use in my first 60+ year old league game this year next Saturday May 17th.

Just got the batting cage ready for hacks and the boys are loving the Tater baseballs. I like throwing them since the weight is the same and the kids like hitting them. I’ve also put them through a Hack Attach Jr about 10-15 times and, other than leaving red marks on the kids bats (from the “stitch” on the ball) these things seem to fit pretty similar to regular baseballs. Plan on ordering more!

I replaced regular baseballs with these Tater Balls and the results are great. Less sting on the hitters hands and the balls last longer. I was going through way too many baseballs with our Hack Attack machine and that was getting expensive. This seems to have fixed our problem!
