I did the 2-mile run with my six year old. He really liked the medal and has been wearing it around, only thing I wish it came with is a race-bib, my son collects them on his wall and the other virtual races we have done have all come with one. But he's very intrigued by the races and wants to do the 4-mile one next.

I hadn't run a timed two-mile run since 2001 and I'm pretty sure I used a stop-watch and not a calendar to time the run back then. What can I say? I'm old and I had sworn I'd never run again unless something was on fire after I retired. It was challenging, embarrassing and invigorating. I can't wait to finish more races though!!!

I'd done a virtual race with a different company at the beginning of November, another one at Thanksgiving and a third one at Christmas time. When I posted my pictures and times nothing much happened from any of their communities. Yawn!!! Battle Miles was completely different ... a very uplifting community of people just doing what they're doing while encouraging others. I'm looking forward to finishing other races. Thanks!!!

2021 NEW YEAR’S RACE (5K/10K)

I ran this on January 1st, as directed. We had a blizzard that night with 5" of snow and ice. The snow ploys hadn't come thru yet. This was torture, but I didn't give up. Finished in 2 hours and 33 minutes. By the way., I'm a 66 year old retired Marine. Ooh-Rah!

I rucked with a 25 lb backpack at Matthiessen State Park. Temperature was high but there was plenty of shade and a cool breeze on the hike. The challenge was great and I had fun participating. The medal looks really cool.

Wearing the vest was a real game changer for me. In fact, I bought the vest for this race, but use it all the time now. The medal was really nice too. It’s currently hanging in my truck. Great challenge and a great race!

Love the challenges and love the concept. During these unprecedented times with no actual racing, these have allowed/forced me to stay active as well as focused. I love that the training never stops. I am using these races as training for other upcoming races after the covid ban...i am confident that I'm staying up on my programing with these races as brutal as they are.
