As a user since fXpansion BVD's early days, these are invaluable tools and feature top performances. Taking these into Pro Tools and creating groove-templates to conform any rhythmic part solves the problem of "everyone not playing together in the same room" – adjust strength accordingly in Beat Detective when conforming. If your a player, you'll actually be able to create those elusive 'pockets' that sell the song when you spend the time to play along with these great patterns.

I haven't done any songwriting with these yet however I have gone in and listened to some in Logic/EZ Drummer. They are nicely played and should be an asset. EZ Bass doesn't come with a wide range of MIDI snippets and this should help.

My DAW is Waveform and I use it with EZ Drummer. I could include the Monkey Groove Mega Pack without problems into EZD's library. The midi gooves have a wide spectrum of many genres and inside the different styles there are very versatile sound slices which can be used 'as is' - no need to change or customize them. Very recommandable.

These beats and others available expand upon the beatbuddy presets significantly. They have longer main grooves and plenty of alternate fills, and are true to the title giving you what you would expect. Well worth the money.

Superbly useful! There are so few Midi grooves for modern (ie Even feel) jazz. These are best on the market so far. Just great: a) they are simple - just kick, snare and HH/Ride. b) The HH/Ride pattern is wonderfully funky in some of the variations. c) 8 bar loops make creating tracks sooo much faster than 2 bars. d) There's a lovely gentle Crash at the beginning of each 8 bar loop. I love all of the grooves I'v e bought from Groove Monkey. I tend to use them in ways that were probably never intended. You'd think I was writing Zeppelin style stuff, but you'd be wrong. I speed them us, slow them down, soak 'em in heavy reverb, drench them in echo, boost them with compression. It's all on the table. Even the odd metal riff I might come up with.

For producer like us, that like a human touch on their drums stems but have not a drummer...you are the solution. Well played midi drums , with their fills, intros and outros. So creative that sometimes we start building the song from your drum tracks, using Addicted drums by xln. I will surely buy more to do a lot of new songs :-)

The Mega Pack is, well, MEGA. It has so many loops that I missed The Police presets at the start, but when I stumbled across them I nearly hit the floor! They were my favourite band in the early 80's and Stewart Copeland is amazing. Adding grooves inspired by him to your track is like adding a dedicated instrument, not just a back beat. I just purchased the Mega Pack and I can’t believe how good value this is. I rarely write reviews but I need to leave feedback about how good this is.
