With the scorch marker, it makes signing everything I make easier. I use to fiddle with burn tools, but now just a regular signature, and a few seconds of the heat gun, and a finish and your done! THIS MARKER IS INCREDIBLE! I’ve always loved the look of pyrography but don’t have the artistic skill to hand burn. Using this marker and stencil vinyl looks just as good and is so fun! Absolutely love this! I’ve been wanting to wood burn for a while and after seeing how expensive it is for wood burning machines (that take forever to burn little details), I gave up the idea. I normally don't start with small projucts... Go big or don't do it at all. So The gator head tray was a gift for a friend of a friend. So I used my Silhouette Cameo tomake my very large stickyback template. Weeded out the parts I did't need and proceeded to color it in. I let it dry and proceeded to use my heatgun. I finally used this finishing oil and I LOVE it! It smells great and it gives my pieces a really nice golden, honey finish. I am so happy I got this, it's so much better than the polyurethane I was using. And again, the smell, soooo much better 😍😍
My ONLY criticism is the container itself, but it might just be preference: I poured some into a squirt bottle so I can have a more precise (and less wasteful) pour. This might be a "me problem" but that has helped a lot.

I'm an honest person so here's my pros and cons. First time user, the first pen looks like I've had it 20 years. I suggest using one as a practice pen before even opening the other. After learning how to use without ruining my pen I make fun signs all the time now. The picture is my first sign so it is a little messy. Above all. 5 stars & will buy again.

In fact, had an accident and spilled some liquid and got it on the wood, clothes, and furniture deluded it with water and walla it disappeared.
Made an error when writing on the wood, so I took a sander to it and again, walla it was gone, new canvas in an instant. Used a butane scortch tool, in lieu of a heat gun, worked great.

It took a minute to get the feel but otherwise simple and easy to use. I did etch into this as sanding down was not enough, then fished it with the burn.

There's definitely a learning curve to the process, as you can see I left the heat gun in a few areas a little too long but I love the technique. The fact that the cutting board wasn't new, but used probably had a lot to do with it also. You have to give the heat gun some time to work, it's not instant so be patient. I tried it on cedar and walnut too. Walnut is not a good choice to use but cedar is awesome!
