It's been on my radar for a long time and I finally decided to get them after trying them at CanJam, though the 109 Pro Primal did try to sway me away from 'em. They sound relaxed, smooth, and velvety with a good amount of detail. The low-end is pretty good but not a heaping amount. And wow, that soundstage and imaging! I do believe that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and the Liric does just that. I appreciate the thought that was put into designing these headphones and it shows i...

The Meze 109 Pro is an amazing sounding headphone. The custom wood treatment for the Primal edition is a pricey add-on that isn't needed to achieve that great sound, but in my opinion even with the extra cost for a purely cosmetic treatment the Meze 109 Pro Primal is still well worth the price.

This amplifier lived up to the positive reviews provided by Joshua Valour & Jay's iyagi. My journey of smooth, organic sound started with the Hifiman EF400, but I wanted more so I decided to dip into tubes. The WA7 3rd gen sounds amazing. I especially enjoy the RCA Clear Top tubes. Looking forward today to try the Mullard tubes to see how the stack against the clear top. The stock is neck and neck with the Hifiman's R2R Himalaya DAC, but the clear top take the lead. Excellent buy and looks...

At CanJam SoCal 2023, I was really impressed by a handful headphones, but the combination that stole the show for me was the Dan Clark Expanse driven by the ampsandsound Nautilus. The sound was so good, that I ended up buying the Expanse and the smaller ampsandsound Mogwai SE (rev 2). The Nautilus was a smidge too expensive for me :-) At the headphones.com booth, I had the chance to listen to the Expanse and compare it with many flagships, including the Focal Utopia, Final Audio 8000, and othe...

The burn in period on these is absolutely true. Right out of the box listening to these I was kind of disappointed didn’t sound very special but, I decided to let them burn in overnight for a few hours because of most of the reviews I’ve read. I gotta say over the next few days of burning in and listening to them, the headphones absolutely came alive. They have a beautiful soundstage, great positioning of the instrument and vocals, deep bass but not overwhelming while still holding a lot of deta...

undefined review of Dan Clark Audio AEON 2 Noire Headphones - Open Box image 1 out of 1
Joshua A.
The Aeon is a strange beast. It has a tuning that is rather unbalanced sounding. I didn't quite like it that much with its default tuning. It took me several tries to EQ it to my ears, but now that I have manually tuned it, it's the best sounding closed-back I own. It's a good weight, and pads are comfortable. The thing that irks me the most about this headphone is how easily the shell propagates cable microphonics. The bundled cable isn't good. Hart Audio's cables have done well for me for oth...

I liked it very much! I received my order perfectly packaged and in perfect condition. The headphones are wonderful, they are the best I’ve heard from truly portable Bluetooth headphones, but initially I was missing something in the sound, I found an equalizer setting on the head-fi forum and the sound was almost as it should be, I advise you to try it, equalizer settings photo No. 2

Guy-francis K.
I've had the Crimson in my possession for over a week now, and I've thoroughly enjoyed the listening experience! Coming from the Sony IER-M9, the only other IEMs I own, I'm glad I purchased the Crimson, for the following reasons: 1. Better fit right out of the box. I still haven't had to tip-roll yet. The tips the Crimson came with fit right out of the box. 2. More comfortable wear over time. The ear guides on the M9 make it hard for the cables to remain behind my ears most times, requiring me t...

This is my review after several months usage as daily driver. Comfort; Nothing special, but I can easily wear it for long periods. Glasses don't seem to make it less comfy. Depending on the exact placement of the headphone, I sometimes develop a very slight hot spot, but when I position the headband right this doesn't happen. Build quality is simply superb. It looks great, and feels like it could withstand some roughness. Only spot that feels weak is the top of the headband. It bends just enou...

You're probably going back and forth between several other closed back headphones in this price range. I know I did just last week before I settled on the Radiance. I can tell you this: this is my absolute favorite headphone in my collection (HEKv2 Stealth, Empyreans, HD 800S, LCD-X, to name a few). Just get the Radiance. It's absolute sonic magic. Like most cans when I first get them, I wasn't wowed. After not even a day's worth of brain burn-in, I noticed that it did something to the sonic c...

These are exactly as described in many reviews. Fast, accurate, and can be adjusted to be comfortable. I moved the headband holes one position to more closely center the drivers on my ears, but it is not critical. I have the drivers tilted about 45 degrees from flat over the ears. Some people think accuracy means bright, and if you do that could happen. I use a 31-band digital equalizer to customize frequency response so accuracy in the components is preferred and can be then tailored as desired...

The sound and build quality are both amazing; recommend a case because the shell is a fingerprint magnet. I detailed a short list of the pros and cons below. It is able to power all of my iems and some of my headphones tested from either the 2.5mm or 4.4mm balanced ports. 64 Audio Nio (low gain) and Sony IER-Z1R (medium gain) iems sound great with no hiss. For headphones, the Final Sonorous VI can reach my preferred listening volume in low gain and Audeze LCD-X 2021 version, Final D8000 Pro, and...

First headphones.com is the best company in audio. Their customer service is wonderful, prices are the best and shipment is the fastest. I wanted the soloist 3x but also wanted to use some klipsch bookshelf speakers and/or drive my hifiman he6se from its speaker outputs, so this seemed the best choice for me. I was blown away by the headphone amp. I can’t imagine anything sounding better than the funk with the v6 vivid op amps. It truly has a beautiful musical sound. It is amazing with...

I received my ifi Signature quickly from Headphones.com. Great service as usual. The Signature is absolutely beautiful with its Metallic blue paint job on it. Unboxing is a joy. A lot of good connections included but, sadly, no iPhone connection. I have been trying to find a Planar Magnetic headphone with a well rounded bass and excellent highs and these are right there close to the top of the list. I normally listen to Smooth Jazz, R&B & Gospel. The 2021 LCD-X pictured here have excellent sound especially when I EQ them, but trust me... you definitely don't have to EQ these bad boys to get great sound. The Burson Conductor 3P is a sight to see for sure,,,a quality piece of kit. It sounds fantastic, easy to figure out as well. It powers my Beyerdynamic DT880 Edition 600 ohm version and T1 2nd gen at 40-45 Hi gain and 70-80 Low gain. The Meze Emperian 14-16 Hi gain And 50-60 Low gain. I read all the reviews and watched all the videos. I was expecting these to sound great. To my surprise they sounded better than great. I couldn’t stop listening. Kept picking my favorite familiar songs and albums. I heard things I never did before. Things close up. Sounds on the left and the right. It was fun. Now I’m listening to different genres. So much great music out there. Experience it with the Focal Clear. There is also a new Focal Clear MG that is suppose to sound better than the orig...

My first IEM, Thieaudio Monarch. It was great for one week, than return and upgrade to this U12t. The Monarch was so good which gave me confident that I know this U12t will be much better. And it was better in another level. The instrument separation was awesome, detail clean, bass was tight, and it’s just better all around. Loving my decision and really loving Headphone.com for awesome service. Highly, highly recommended it.

Unit has very high quality look and feel. Amazingly detailed user manual, with endless setup options. Good news is that out of the box, the default setup is fully functional, plug & play. My wife used it via the remote the first day, and I can take my time exploring setup options and sonic nuances. Sound and function are excellent using all factory default settings. Unit serves as my headphone amp for a pair of tweaked HD800 headphones, and as the balanced pre-amp / DAC feeding a 500 wpc digital...

I really like this dac so far. I bought this while I was waiting to get a replacement Topping D90se that had died after 2 weeks on me. After having this for a few days I changed the Topping to a refund and I am keeping this for half the price. The Topping is nice but I found it too sterile sounding for me. You Audeze deez nuts headphones, my friend! This is now my favorite daily driver at work. I was rocking a ZMF Verite Open for a while, but I eventually realized that I needed a little bit more noise isolation at work. I know closed backs are a good answer to this problem, but I've generally avoided them because I could never find one that I really liked. I had heard about the LCD-XC before, but there some some complaints about the frequency response (I don't have the ability to EQ at work) as w...

I've been wondering for some time about how good the Arya really sounds because most of the reviews I've seen indicate they are nothing short of Incredible. I recently purchased them to hang on my wall along with my HD800S, Clear MG and Audeze LCD XC. After 2 days of listening, they have become my "Go-To" headphones and are the first ones I go to when I sit down at my desk. I'll keep this short and sweet.....If you've been thinking about pulling the trigger on these, stop thinking and do it. D...

I had heard good things about the 2020/21 revision of the LCD-X and XC, so I decided to give the XC a shot. Coming from a pair of Focal Elears (with Clear pads), these headphones provide a substantially different but complementary experience. Build: Yes, these are fairly heavy, but they distribute the weight quite well and I appreciate that almost everything is user-serviceable. First impression is that these are well-built, and I don't see any QC issues. Sound isolation is decent - not the a...

Gotta say I like these little things. I’ve had 200$+ wireless headphones that sound much much worse. In my opinion they are well worth the $90 price tag. Very clear sound and less bassy than my Sony SP800n’s and Beats Pro. Also the well (hole?) the earbuds sit in is deep enough to allow double flange earbud tip. No other wireless bud I’ve used could use double flange ear tips. Small but cool feature. What could be a problem for some folks is the controls require some heavy tapping to get to ...

I've heard some pretty good headphones over the years and owned some decent ones in the under $500 bracket. This is the first pair that I've genuinely loved. They're comfortable enough that I forget I'm wearing them, and they fit my head fine, though I have a pretty big head. I bought a portable ifi Hip Dac 2 to power them, and that seems to do the job well. I haven't tried other amps to see if they can improve the sound any. I own quite a few collections of high-end headphones. I can simply say that this is by far the best(not one of) dynamic headphone you can find on the market. The high is very clear but not shouty, the mid is warm and full of details, and the bass is very powerful but not punchy. The stage is not as vast as HD800S but is good enough when listening to pop music. It is an all-around update of the OG version. If you like the original Utopia and mostly listen to pop music. This dac amp has the perfect size for using it on a tiny desk or on the go. The color is really nice and it has more than enough power to drive my Focal Elegia, more than 50% volume is already hearing damage territory, I use it for most music at 35-40% volume and really enhaces all frequencies, sometimes using bass boost is just too much for some songs and sometimes I cannot find the sweet spot for bass since it warms some songs more than I would like to, and turning bass boost off just flattens...

If you’re reading reviews and wondering “could this really be over $1000 better than my 6XXs?” I hate to inform you, yes they really are that good. I only have 2 minor complaints. One is the boxing is pretty poor for the price. Its basically the same as $200 6XXs. My focal clears box was ultra premium and it came with a case that is actually worth using. I love my Chord Qutest and Woo WA-23 setup and wanted something more compact that was going to get me close to that and this is it! I pair it with a Hugo2 as the DAC (good in its own right as an amp too, but there's a huge difference once you start using the Hugo2 as DAC and WA8 as amp) and Audeze (LCD-2 and LCD-3) and ZMF (Atrium and VC) headphones.
