It really does have a rainbow effect if you choose that option! I was skeptical about that bc I’ve only ever seen these come in clear, but the effect is beautiful. Nice sounding instrument. After having a temporary upper mid-back area injury from a fall, and unable to play guitar for awhile, I saw someone playing on untube and thought I could handle this. I needed to play own music, so I ordered the 17 key Hluru classic in walnut wood. It is a delight to play-very nice tone, and arrived well tuned. I’m learning but it is easy enough to handle and I’m making good steady progress.

The 34 key chromatic kalimba looks like a serious instrument. Beautiful to look at with the "seeds" logo carved in the middle. It took a bit of tuning which is normal. The sound is lovely, very clear! The tines very polished, a bit slippery at first, something to get used to. The board appears heavy but it gives the kalimba some heft and is comfortable to handle. All and all a great gift to myself. I am very happy with my purchase.
