This is an amazing device of science and a learning for basic physical science. The tricks are a major bonus, very captivating. The real benefit is (trying) to explain to newbies what is actually going on. And of course, just playing with the thing. Great that 3 string sizes come with. Good for experimenters and players of any age.

I bought this for my 7, 10 and 12 year old nieces and nephew. It was a huge hit!! I loved that they needed to practice a bit to keep their hand steady. They learned about cause and effect. They started playing games right away. Lasso the drink bottles, putting their string inside the loop of another person’s string. Great fun!!

I bought each of my three youngest grandchildren one of these for Christmas. Much to my surprise all of the adults were playing with them. My son-in-law was the one who couldn’t seem to put it down. The zip string exceeded my expectations, Everyone loves it!!! I originally ordered four but then there was some issues with shipping and I weren’t sure if they were going to arrive on time so I ordered four more and had them expedited. They all ended up arriving and I had eight and figured I would just have to return some . The kids loved them so much that all the Dad’s wanted one too. I ended up using all eight. I bought a ZipString for each of my 12 oldest grandkids, between the ages of 4 and 16. They all really loved it and enjoyed playing with them together. The kids even as young as 5 became really adept at loading the string into the device. So far, so good! I've had it for a week, used it probably 15 minutes per day and it's been pretty great! I've read quite a few reviews that say the string gets tangled constantly. It does get tangled, but after tangling it a few times you figure out which movements to avoid. And the tangles usually pull out pretty easy. They're usually just a tension knot and can pull right through. I love that it has a rechargeable battery with USB-C. Loads of fun!

A week later and they are still playing with the ZipStrings. They don't have any problems changing out the strings on their own.
