While charging, the multipurpose light on the front pulses red until fully charged, and then turns green. That "multipurpose" light then becomes a sort of "headlight" emitting white light while you are using the device. This one from Sunmay exceeds my expectations. It comes in a complete set with usb charger, clip, comb, finger protectant and velvet cover. The size is perfect for traveling and it fits inside my small purse. It is also lightweight and very easy to use. I love that you have the option to adjust the heat temperature from 165°c to 205°c and there is a safety lock to prevent burning my hand or my personal belongings.
