I used this knife to trim the fat and edges of the Brisket I cooked the other day and it was amazing, it allowed me to get a nice clean cut without cutting away good meat, it also allowed me to get a nice clean shape on the Brisket, allowing for a more even crust to be formed.

This thing was shaving sharp out of the box, I tested it. It works great for chopping vegetables. It cuts effortlessly, the weight of the knife will almost cut through a potato, very little force is required to make the cut.

The Gator is just what I needed. A sharp knife that feels good in the hand, very versatile. I am still figuring out how to use the Shark one, its a little different. The knife is very substantial and sharp. It is very heavy as well. I tend to like and enjoy big knives so, I am OK with this but, some may not. FYI for right handers ... left handed sheath only. I ordered the leather sheath and it was pictured as a right-handed sheath. However, the one I received was left handed. They don’t/didn’t have a righty so they refunded my money. All-in-all, happy with the knife.

Make sure your knife has the coolina logo on it!!!! I ordered the promaja. The one that turned up wasn’t authentic. It didn’t have logo, was thicker and longer and cracked within a week. The coolina team were helpful and trustworthy and sent me a new knife. The difference between the two, aesthetically, were obvious. The replacement knife is the best knife I’ve ever owned.

This smaller, slimmer knife is a dream for all slicing of veggies. I find myself reaching for it for any dissecting of tendons, etc from portions of meat. I do look forward to an even smaller, 4 inch, true paring size, more convenient for peeling.

so - I bought about 7 or 8 knives for the kitchen against my wife's wishes. she has taken over 3 of them. Now I have finished my basement. so rather than move them around I just bought 4 more. Some feel almost too heavy but the weight really helps when you are splitting ribs or chicken. the smaller varieties are good for steaks. Lets not forget about the Freddy Krueger meat shredders. they are bad...bad meaning awesome.
