I have this item to help open the multitude of boxes and deliveries I receive for work.
It cuts tape on boxes at the indentation of the tail (top and bottom).
I had to push the key ring down into the tape to get it to work.
I sharpened the end tail fin slightly on my knife sharpening stone. Didn't take much to get a sharper edge on it. Tip still as per manufacturer, sharpened edge only.
I felt it needed a better 'piercing' edge.
Works great now!!
P.s - I keep my keys away from my kids regar...
