Years ago I had AC reconstructive surgery and now I am older at times it gives me pain. This brace works well for those times and help relieve the muscle tension that results from flare ups. Problem: sharp, stinging pain from a torn rotator cuff. This shoulder brace did for me what it's apparently done for several other users: didn't eliminate the pain, but decreased it by about half, in particular, it stopped the feeling that pins were being stuck into my shoulder joint. I bought this as an attempt to help relieve the pain in my shoulder from a pinched nerve. It is a great value for the money and it really helps to reduce the pain. It takes a little bit to get used to it. I only have one suggestion. I have really flabby arms and I could really use a bigger size around the arm cuff. Since the arm cuff really isn't sized right for my arm, it tends to ride up my arm as I move throughout the day. I think that maybe two different adjustable sizes would go a long way ...

I got this to manage chronic shoulder instability (i.e. repeated dislocations--I've had two so far, and will do pretty much anything to prevent a third). I purchased this to help me return to activity with my grade 3 AC separation which happened 4 months ago. My shoulder is still unstable, and while I'm waiting for surgery I'm going stir crazy not able to do the things in my lifestyle. I've only used the brace to play soccer, and it's done a great job of stabilizing things while running. Waited to write this review to play tennis in it for several weeks. Conclusion -it’s outstanding in every way to support my shoulder until my labrum and rotator cuff surgery. During abduction for a big cut on my forehand and pronation during my serves, my arm was jello before and after any impact.
