For your improvement in the future, it would be nice to have a couple of different size of attachment to the pump so it is easy to connect or screw on.
I have resolved my problem and used the bottle cap from the water container, made a hole in it and made it work that way. The day I have a different water container I will have to improvise again how to attach the pump to the container.
