This is one of those purchases you don't think you need until you have it. Cooking 3 nights a week on my barby now that I can light the coals, prep the meat, come back and throw the coals in the bbq. It does take about 5 minutes to heat the bbq and grill once deposited but it's still cuts my cooking time in half!

The mallee root charcoal is awesome. There are large chunks of charcoal in the bag, which light up quickly and burn really hot. The image is one of the bigger chunks i'll be burning for a second time. The subscription makes it easy for me as i'm not having to rush to bunnings to buy average charcoal. Great product, highly recommend

The Mallee charcoal: i wasn't sure about this, and doubted it when adding to the shopping cart - but opening the bag and seeing the knobbly shape, light feel, and hollow sound it was clear that this was good gear. The coal was lighting up in the chimney and crackled like a fire in the bush. This coal got going quickly and was a very clean burn. I'm so impressed. It looks and feels like it's going to last a lifetime, a premium product that I won't have to replace. As my little cheapo chimney rivets are about to fall through, I thought I'd give this a try. Extremely well engineered, solid and rugged. Paired it with the Catch Plate, and later added the Pyralit adjustable torch buying an industrial gas Tradeflame cartridge to partner it, giving me controllable high heat. I already have about 10kg of Mallee Root Charcoal to work with.
