I'm not sure yet. I took a dropper full twice a day for 7 days. I coughed even more than before. Didn't see that the mucus was any easier to get out either. I stopped taking it. After not taking it for 3 days, I don't cough as much, but still a lot of mucus. I guess I'll try again and see if I cough more like I did before or if mucus gets better which it didn't before.
