Whilst this book isn't something I would normally read, I did really enjoy the story of Tiber and his found companions. It has moments where you read a scene and can easily picture the scene in your head and play it out as you read. Sometimes I did find certain parts a little predictable but the characters outweighs that small flaw. I can't wait to see how Tiber and Co. get on in the next book.

Firesight is an exciting story with an intriguing magic system that I enjoyed learning about. The main characters are relatable and there were several very surprising twists. I do believe the writing could be tighter, but as it’s a debut novel, I’m confident the author will continue to improve as the series progresses.

4.5 stars - I really enjoyed this YA fantasy! Very well written (in 3rd person with multiple points of view) and appropriate for all ages. Chapters were just the right length and very compelling, especially in the beginning - they kept me reading!! I took off half a star because somehow I felt like the plot and writing lost a little bit of its tightness in the second half.
