I have never valued cushions in the past; they are accessories and not a necessity to me. However, I like to read and journal in bed and came to know that pillows are a poor support for my back and started looking for cushions. I am picky w color and pattern choices and this one worked out really well for me. The insert are very firm, it provides great support and I love the serene color and pattern that match the curtain. I would recommend this if you have similar needs.
