These poufs are very solid and very comfortable to either put your feet up or you can turn them so that the sitting height is 18" and they are very comfortable to sit on. The colors are definitely brown and taupe, not sandy. The solid wool texture is luxurious. Nothing about these poufs looks cheap or poorly made. I purchased 2 as ottomans and love them.
