I work on ladders at work and I wanted a little extra cushion to help make it a little more comfortable which to that purpose these pads did work somewhat, the only problem with these pads are the little pieces of hard foam in them that Protrude into your foot as you walk making them somewhat uncomfortable. I ended up taking them out at the end of the day as I find the boot is better off without them
