Using for cloth masks I used a light blue 2mm elastic cord for most my masks but knew I would need more. I chose the black. Long term use for each mask is yet to be seen. My husband left one of his in his vehicle and it has really stretched out. Not sure if its due to a lot of wear or the heat. The 2mm cord is comfortable. I would recommend treating the ends so it wont continue to fray. I use 2 coats of clear nail polish.
