I first tried the maple bacon syrup with Rittenhouse Rye, which made a spectacularly good Old Fashioned with your Old Fashioned syrup. With the maple bacon syrup, it was merely "meh." I gave it another try with 1792 bourbon, and it was much better, but still short of my expectations. The maple flavor came through OK, but the bacon just didn't seem to be there. It makes for a pleasant enough drink, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I'll stick with the Old Fashioned syrup--that one is excel...
